On December 4-6th ECIU University student ambassadors from 12 institutions gathered at INSA Strasbourg (France) for ECIU University Student Ambassadors Training Days.

The event was designed not just to prepare the participants for representing ECIU University, but to empower them, build a strong sense of community, and enhance their leadership and organisational skills.

With a focus on group collaboration, the Training Days aimed to help build a thriving network of ambassadors who can play a crucial role in driving ECIU’s mission across partner institutions.

The three-day event included group work sessions, team building, leadership training, and a visit to the EU Parliament – bringing over 20 participants from different universities and backgrounds together to share ideas, exchange perspectives and lay a foundation for future projects.

‘It was an intense experience that brought a wide range of emotions and feelings in just a few days’,

says Miriam Seggioli, an ambassador from the University of Trento.

‘I started with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty since we are all very different in terms of studies, language, and culture. However, it was the combination of our differences and common points that made working together so effective. Meeting in person and collaborating made me realise we are building something truly meaningful.’

The event also set the course for the ambassadors’ next steps and future collaborations. Some plans include a feedback loop for improving the Engage platform user experience, building an ECIU University Alumni Network and creating digital platforms for student ambassador collaboration.

In the meantime, the participants are excited to keep promoting ECIU University – and look forward to meeting again next year.

‘We learnt a lot about how to be leaders, about cultural differences, and how to make the most out of them,’

shares Quentin Leroi, a student ambassador from INSA Strasbourg who helped organise the event.

‘It was a great experience, and I can’t wait for the next meeting. Until then, we will continue building the future of ECIU University together!’

Student ambassadors are students who represent their institutions and fellow learners at ECIU University, as well as promote ECIU University and its mission. If you have a question for them or would like to become an ambassador yourself, please contact the community coordinator at your local ECIU office or reach out to the ECIU University learner engagement coordinator Ryan Wakamiya via ryan.wakamiya@eciu.eu.
