As ECIU University aims to ensure micro-credentials' recognition, portability, mobility and transparency for learners, the latest paper prepared by the ECIU University’s micro-credential lead Mairéad Nic Giolla Mhichíl, showcases the work done so far – and micro-credentials' future.
The paper looks at the integration of micro-credentials into the ECIU University structure, highlighting successes and challenges. It also addresses assigning ECTS to micro-credentials and reflects on how aligning micro-credentials with the European Qualification Framework can bring them into the mainstream.
These efforts present a major step toward making micro-credentials a standard part of higher education across Europe and building a more inclusive framework – thus creating new opportunities for learners across borders.
