The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) is looking for an intern to help represent the network in Brussels. As an intern, you closely follow EU policy developments, identify opportunities for ECIU member universities, and help to communicate them to the ECIU network. You attend events in Brussels and help raise the profile of ECIU as an important contributor to the EU policy debate.
The intern will be based in Brussels, together with Olga Wessels, the ECIU Head of Brussels Office, and colleagues of Aalborg University, one of ECIU’s member universities. In cooperation with the Brussels Office, you will gain influence on and co-responsibility of your own personal as well as professional profit, dependent on your academic background and interests. Furthermore, the internship will help develop your competences as well as expand your European network.
As an intern, you will be an active part of all office activities, including:
ECIU is a strong and active network of Europe's most entrepreneurial and innovative universities. The thirteen partners have already been cooperating within ECIU since its foundation in 1997. There is cooperation in the field of education, in promoting entrepreneurship amongst students and staff and in exploring new ways of collaborating with business, industry and the public sector. The ECIU Brussels Office is an integrated part of the network. The Brussels Office advises the colleagues of ECIU on EU policy developments. The focus is mainly on EU education-, research-, and innovation policies, including the specific programmes (Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, and Horizon Europe).
The office is located in the same building as several regional offices and other interest organisations, which means you will have plenty of opportunities to spar with other interns during the day.
It is an unpaid internship, but ECIU will provide housing costs up to €500 a month and cover travel expenses at the start and the end of the internship. Additionally, there is the possibility of applying for an Erasmus+ grant.
The internship is from September 1st 2019 until Feb 7 2019.
Application, CV and a grade transcript along with potential recommendations are sent to Head of ECIU Brussels’ Office Olga Wessels on intern@eciu.org.
For any questions, you are welcome to contact the office via olga.wessels@eciu.org or by calling +32 483 680 182.
