As ECIU University celebrates its 5th birthday on November 7th, this year’s edition of ECIU University Magazine places an emphasis on one of the alliance’s biggest assets – its diverse community that keeps changing the European educational landscape.  

Through news highlights, photos and over 10 interviews, the magazine spotlights learners, educators, researchers, team members and stakeholders across 14 institutions, showcasing the impact they've been making together.  

In the foreword, ECIU president Jan-Ingvar Jönsson highlights the innovative potential of ECIU University collaborations. Vanessa Debiais-Sainton of the European Commission talks about the influence of university alliances on higher education – and how ECIU University is leading the way.  Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) vice-rector for education Kristina Ukvalbergienė shifts the focus to a local perspective – explaining how ECIU University transformed the approach to learning and teaching at KTU. Meanwhile, ECIU University’s learner engagement coordinator Ryan Wakamiya discusses reimagining the students’ place in the modern educational system – with student ambassadors sharing their own experiences as part of ECIU University.
