The main goal is to allow students to obtain a global perspective of the main environmental sustainability challenges of today and, generally, to establish their relations and implications with territorial management and planning. The course debates, with theoretical and practical insights, key topics such as: Environmental Systems and Planetary Boundaries; Sustainable development Goals as planning orthodoxy; major environmental issues from the global to the local scale (Demographics; Water management; Fossil fuels, energy, air pollution and climate change; Sustainable cities; Sustainable mobility; Industry, sustainable consumption and production; Urban and rural interlinkages).
