But we understand that attending events can be expensive, especially for learners!

To encourage attendance at the ECIU University Forum, each ECIU University member institution could select and financially support a maximum of:

  • 4 students (including 2 student ambassadors)
  • 5 administrative staff members
  • 5 teachers/researchers
  • 1 external stakeholder (the selected external stakeholder /per ECIU institution) will need to present a session to be eligible for financing)

The selection will be done at the member institution level. You can apply as a participant (call open in January) or a session presenter (call already published and open until the 2nd of December).

Process for the financial support allocation:

Once the evaluation process of the applications is over, the ECIU University Forum coordination team will forward the institutional contact points of ECIU member institutions the following information:

  • Applicants registered by their institution
  • Ranked list of successful proposals for sessions

Based on this information, each institution will allocate the support by applying the following criteria:

  • Applicants selected for presenting sessions will be prioritized following the ranking and up to the funds available.
  • The remaining funds will be free for the institution to allocate, considering gender balance and diversity in participants’ profiles.
  • For external stakeholders only: Trento University will reimburse all the costs to external stakeholders up to the maximum set by the Erasmus+ programme (152 euro per day between June 9 and June 12 at the latest + a travel contribution whose amount depends on the distance from Trento).

FAQs

Can I apply on my own?

Yes, but we strongly encourage people to apply in a team! So you might want to consider contacting the people you worked with on the Challenge to put together a team application.

Who can apply?

Anyone who participated in a Challenge (teacher, student, external stakeholder), and preferably in a team! However, for the prize trip to Trento, the recipients must be affiliated with an ECIU member university.

For instance, students who were on an exchange semester and participated in a Challenge can of course apply, but if they win, they would only win the trip to Trento if they are still currently enrolled at the ECIU University partner university.

All winners will receive a certificate though, regardless of their university affiliation.

Any general tips from last year’s participants?

Gather as much material (photos, videos, feedback) as possible during the Challenge to provide content for the video!

Any tips for making the video?

Depending on how creative you want to be, and how much time you want to invest in increasing your video editing skills, there are many free tools!  Here are some suggestions for tools that are easy to work with (and have a ‘free’ option):

  • Canva
  • Visme
  • VistaCreate (formerly Crello)
  • Adobe Express
  • Biteable
  • Powtoon
  • Kapwing
  • Genially
